About Us

Well Come to

S. K. Enterprises Kyanite Mines is the oldest operating mines for Kyanite in Central India and at present is the leading producer of Kyanite in India. Our associated minerals include Sillimanite, Phyrophyllite & Corundum.

We are the part of SKE group of mines having active participation in mining of Limestone, Dolomite, Calcined Lime & Manganese.

Kyanite/Sillimanite so mined and processed by us is being catered to 90% of the refractory Industries in India, besides being exported to China. It is mainly used in refractory products like dense bricks, Insulating bricks, monolithic & castables. Certain quantities of Kyanite are being used in investment casting units and in foundries. Kyanite produced by PKM offers unique high temperature characteristics like high refractoriness, good expansion characterstics, mullite formation, improvement in RUL/Creep behavior and Low ferric content. It is free of tourmaline.

Kaynite

Kaynite Mines are presently operating two semi–mechanized mines which produce kyanite and sillimanite in the Ramgarh Cantt -829 117 district Rangarh (in the Jharkhand). We have also set up Ore dressing and grinding unit at Village Orla, Distt : Rangarh, where in we are producing kyanite/Sillianite concentrate along with powder and grains of various sizes ranging from 100 to 325 mesh and grains of 3/5 to 1/0.5 mm.

Kyanite Powder

Kyanite is a member of the Sillimanite group of minerals. This Mineralogical group includes Kyanite, Andulusite and Sillimanite - all of which are naturally occurring polymorphs of Al2o3.Sio2. These are commonly referred to as the 1:1 Aluminop-Sllicates.

Raw Kyanite is a Blue crystal, Subhedral in shape and occurs in Elongated Prismatic grains. Kyanite has the property of expanding irreversibly when heated. The degree of volume expansion is dependent upon mesh size of the Kyanite. This expansion helps in offsetting the shrinkage of other raw material and binders employed in the mix and this makes it an important ingredient in the manufacture of refractory.

Kyanite is a super-duty refractory material with high resistance to thermal shock. It also decomposes into high strength phase mullite at a relatively low temperature 1350 - 1375 Deg.Celcius , there by inducing faster sintering.

Kaynite Specification :

Kyanite, whose name was derived from the Greek word Kyanos which means Blue. It is typically blue silicate mineral, commonly found in Aluminum - Rich Metamorphic Pegmatite or Sedimentary Rocks. Kyanite is a member of the Aluminosilicate series, which includes the Polymorph Andalusite and the Polymorph Sillimanite. It is strongly Anisotropic, in that its hardness varies depending on its Crystallographic direction. While this is a feature of all most all minerals, in Kyanite this Anisotropism can be considered an identifying characteristic.
